Food Testing And Kinesiology

When I say I’m a Kinesiologist if people don’t say “whats that?” they generally say “oh that’s allergy testing isn’t it”…

Well the answer is yes & no…certainly within a Kinesiology session I can test to see whether certain foods are impacting on the health of an individual in general & very specific ways. This can be enormously helpful & in some instances it no exaggeration to say that it can change people’s lives my testimonials vouch for that

A food sensitivity is very different from an allergy. Sensitivities build up have an insidious effect on our health which can happen slowly over time & cause a range of symptoms such as bloating tiredness weight gain headaches & skin complaints. An allergy is much more serious & has an immediate & clear impact on the individual & is potentially life threatening.

A kinesiology session doesn’t just stop though once we’ve found an “offending food”. I certainly don’t want to just give people a list of foods never to eat again & hope all will be well. Kinesiology is about find root causes AND treating the whole person structurally emotionally electrically & chemically/nutritionally . Within reason we should be able to eat & drink most things – a full seasonal & varied diet is what we should aim for. If a particular food is causing a problem we need to find out why – does the individual have a poor digestive system which needs help – maybe their large intestine area is sluggish & not eliminating toxins effectively – maybe they’re not chewing enough or drinking huge quantities of liquid with their meals – they could even be eating on the run under stress or there could be emotional attachments which cause them to react to certain foods. The body is like an onion – in layers & kinesiology can gently help peel away these layers to release areas of congestion & stress.

Temporary elimination of certain foods may indeed help the person return to health & it true that there are certain food groups which cause more reaction in a higher percentage of people – wheat & dairy sugar & salt for example. However once we have stabilised the other areas of the individual often foods can be re-introduced & eaten in moderation sometimes with continuing digestive support.

Systematic Kinesiology is way of identifying imbalance a person has by monitoring their ability to hold their muscles against light pressure. Each muscle is related to an organ & also to an energy pathway called a meridian. Together the muscle organ & meridian form a “circuit”. If there are any chemical emotional structural or energetic stresses affecting the circuit the muscle tested will feel “spongy” indicating an imbalance.

Once the imbalance is found the Kinesiologist uses the muscle test again to get feedback form person’s body about what factors are aggravating the imbalance & what will help to rebalance it. Each time a relevant factor is introduced the muscle’s response changes a bit like a switch. So imagine a spongy muscle as being “off”; if the person then thinks of an emotional stress & the muscle is suddenly able to hold the pressure ie it switches “on” that indicates that particular stress is involved in that imbalance. Similarly if a particular nutrient when placed in the mouth causes the muscle to switch “on” we know it will be helpful. The same process can be used to find related structural problems & energetic factors that are involved.

Based on this feedback the Kinesiologist & client can discover exactly what is involved in the imbalance & devise a treatment plan. It may include nutritional supplements various emotional stress release techniques Bach Flower remedies acupressure gentle structural realignment Chakra balancing light touch firm reflex massage suggested lifestyle changes & more. The exact treatment you receive depends on the feedback your body gives through the muscle test about what it needs to return to health.
