Job Search: How To Become A Self-Confident Person?
A self-confident candidate is what the potential employer expects to see. Eventually, if you’re not assured in your personal abilities why the potential employer should hire you? A job interview is the most nervous and difficult thing. Agitation, nervousness and excitement are natural and practically all of the candidates always have moments of uncertainty during the job interview. You should try to activate your self-assurance. The following advices should help you to acquire self-confidence.
Always provide an eye contact. If you not provide eye contact with your interviewer you will expose your poor self-confidence. You must calmly look in interviewer’s eyes during the entire interview. Of course, you shouldn’t gaze at him all the time without any reason. Nevertheless, and it will be all right if you take a look at your resume or at your notepad and take some notes. If there are several persons who are present at the interview, you should look exactly at the person who is asking the question. When your turn comes to answer a questions you can sometimes look at the other people in the office, they can feel you are talking to all of them. Meet their eyes to provide clearness to your speech not to make an impression you are talking to yourself.
Keep your speech clear and loud. Murmuring and speaking in a very low tone exposes poor self-assurance. Your voice should be loud enough but try not to shout. Speak calmly and clearly so everybody can understand what you’re saying. Do not avoid answering the questions. Face them with confidence.
Do not decrease your role. This does not mean you should exaggerate the role you played at your previous job. It just means you should be positive speaking of your performance and work. Do not be passive. For instance, if you say that you helped with some kind of project but I did not run it, degrade the real contributions you made. It would be better when you say that you assisted in several very important projects and your role was the key one in accomplishing these projects.
It is so easy to read job ads but the application and the process of the actual interview is another pair of shoes. There’s no man can pass all the interviews successfully without being nervous. Even veterans who had lots of interviews may suddenly undergo excitement and nervousness. If you occasionally become nervous at the interview, make a deep breath and try to calm down. Be convinced that if the company doesn’t think you can accomplish their job, they simply not even try interviewing you. They want to see you as a self-confident and strong person who can do the job they need. Give them what they need.
To get a job is not an easy task. Prepare for it in a proper way and never give up.
